Rest in peace, Bettie

Betty Mae Page

April 22, 1923 – December 11, 2008

Just as beautiful at 80

I had to drive Grandma out to the next town so she could get a wood piece for her needlepoint makings. On the way there she kept insisting that Gevvy was too hot and that he needed his jacket removed. Since my son wasn't complaining, I maintained that it could wait until we arrived at our destination. Soon after that, Sean called me to tell me that he was home (he had to work, that's why he couldn't drive her in the first place). While driving at a fast speed on the highway, I wasn't able to put my phone back in it's case, so I put it on my lap.
After 5 more minutes of Grandma's badgering about Gevvy being too hot, she convinced me to pull over on the side of the road. It was snowy and I was in a hurry. My phone fell on the ground and I didn't even notice.
A few minutes later, the empty phone case made me realize that my phone was floating around somewhere.
Too bad it was floating around outside of the car. I drove back and found it in pieces on the road.
I wonder if Bettie Page did needlepoint?

Stephen Harper

I made this. This rat patrol poster is from the 1950's, and Alberta is rat free to this day (with the exception of one)

My chaos for the day...

Earlier this evening I was having waves of anger flood over me mixed with other weird emotions, mixed with pms.

I actually felt like I was going to explode (you know that feeling where you need to scream to release stress, but you can't scream or do anything really?)
All of a sudden I hear an explosion outside my window- it sounded like aluminum tearing, but at an extremely high volume that ripped through my ears.

I looked outside and saw this.

The car belongs to my neighbor who happens to be on vacation at the moment.

The Calgary fire department arrived in under 8 minutes.

Hazmat showed up later.
